Paraquat Training

All,

We've have had several questions regarding the new mandatory training for paraquat.  Per EPA, any person who intends to use paraquat must be a certified applicator and is required to take the training. “Use” includes pre-application activities involving mixing and loading the pesticide; applying the pesticide; and other pesticide-related activities, including, but not limited to, transporting or storing opened pesticide containers, cleaning equipment, and disposing of excess pesticides, spray mix, equipment wash waters, pesticide containers, and other paraquat-containing materials.

The training is provided by the manufactures not the Arkansas Department of Agriculture, Plant Industries Division.  Below is the link to the mandatory training on the Parazone 3SL label.

Applicators must complete an EPA-approved paraquat training listed on the following website:
https://www.epa.gov/pesticide-worker-safety/paraquat-dichloride-training-certified-applicators
The training must be completed a minimum of every three years.

If you have any questions feel free to contact Susie Nichols or Brandi Reynolds.
